Known professionally as 'Danny_The_Acrobat,' Daniel Franzel is a well-trained acrobat with over 11 years of training under a former Ringling Bros Circus and Disney performer.
As Artist In Residence, Daniel delighted hundreds of students, ages 6-15, in weekly performances this summer at Seattle's School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts, and at The 2023 American Youth Circus Organization Showcase. His show is followed by a Q&A session about neurodiversity and learning differences. The positive effects of his performances are reflected in the thoughtful questions the children ask. The show helps children, and adults alike, shape their understanding of autism awareness and disability inclusion.
Who is involved? Daniel is a solo performer. His Manager and Mom, Karen Hairston-Franzel, J.D., facilitates Q&A Sessions immediately following his performances.
What is involved? Daniel's circus show involves Chinese kite flying, tumbling, and acrobatic maneuvers on the aerial silks and static trapeze.
Why should Danny_The_Acrobat be invited to perform? Daniel has a very unique means of teaching children (and adults alike) circus arts as well as about learning differences and inclusion. Over 500 students have been educated, dazzled, and inspired by his performances. We've received extremely positive feedback from parents, teachers, and summer camp counselors about how well the performance helped students process, understand, and give serious thought to the issues involved.
