About Maria Cavagnero

Born in Argentina, María Cavagnero has lived in different parts of the world following the call of art, including Italy and Spain.

A restless seeker of bodily expression through movement, she specializes in aerial silks, trapeze, rope, and the CYR wheel.

She is one of the few practitioners of the cyr wheel in Spain, which has taken her to festivals all over the world.

Among her diverse shows, we can highlight "Equilibrium," a unique performance using the wheel that won the Acciones Urbanas contest at the International Theater Festival in Molina de Segura. She has also received several awards at Circada Off 2018.

She has received distinctions such as the Best Show Award in 2018 in Catalonia with "Josafat" and was nominated as an emerging artist at the Circo Zirkolika Awards in 2017, among others.

She has collaborated with art directors and artists such as Adrian Schvarzstein and Abel Martin (La Fiesta Escenica) and performed in large-format shows in more than 15 countries with La Fura del Baus.

She has participated in international festivals like Trapezi Reus, Circada, Cervantino, Mermejita (MEXICO), Malabharia, and more.

Today, she continues to perform solo with her world tour featuring her cyr wheel act "DONA," dedicated to feminine energy, which has inspired her to begin her journey of sisterhood with women.

She has chosen to continue her artistic work and combine it with training and support for feminine healing.

She is a member of the Tinglado Collective, for which she has toured the show "KM0," of which she is the creator. She is always driven to bring culture to the most remote places.

With over 15 years of experience, she is a teacher of aerial techniques and collaborates with associations and other artists with the aim of promoting the performing arts through education and the production of shows such as "KM0" (connecting artists from Tarragona) and "Cabaret Violeta Circus Woman."
