Johkoba is a captivating fusion of live instrumental and electronic music, where the soulful tones of the saxophone and clarinet meet the enchanting melodies of the violin and guitar, creating a mesmerizing soundscape. Based in Albania, the group is led by visionary Albanian producer and DJ John van Ride, whose expert rhythms and beats serve as the backbone of this sonic adventure. The live performances are further elevated by the skilled musicianship of Koli Bimi, an Albanian artist whose expressive saxophone and clarinet performances infuse the music with depth and emotion, and Alban Ceca, also from Albania, whose mastery of the violin and guitar adds a layer of melodic beauty. Johkoba’s 90-minute performances span a variety of genres, including Ambient, Lounge, Deep House, Afro House, Organic House, and Ethnic Music. The live instruments played during the performance—such as the clarinet, saxophone, duduk, nej, guitar, violin, oud, and piano—bring a rich, organic texture to the electronic foundation, seamlessly blending the ancient and the modern.
